Volunteer Positions

Looking for a more long term and indepth experience? Check out our available internships!

We have lots of folks who have volunteered over the years here at the farm. We welcome any and all help! In order to utilize them efficiently, we have 4 areas where we funnel the volunteers. Because each item (except mucking) takes actual training, we ask for a weekly commitment for the shepherding and milking positions.

1. Milking the goats with an intern If you want to come on a regular day or shift - we can pair you up with an intern and you can help with a milking shift. This generally is 5 hours. Most people think this is really fun and the goats are delightful

2. Mucking the barn. This doesn't take a lot of skill, but you get a good work out and it makes the goats' lives so much nicer to have dry bedding and a clean home. We usually do this in a group, so there is a lot of camaraderie.

3. Shepherding the goats out browsing in the brush next to the farm. We take loppers and machete and chop down the tall stuff and lead the girls out to eat tree bark and bushes. A fun task! This is watching the girls being quintessentially goats!

4. Weeding the gardens is always a needed task all growing season long. It is a peaceful spot, and fun to be where there are so many delectable things growing. We show you what is a weed and what is a plant!

So, if you have a hankering to come spend time on the farm and get a farm fix, give me a call and let's see if we can work you into the schedule!
